The LVEM25 is the newest and most powerful benchtop Low Voltage Electron Microscope built on an enhanced technology platform and designed to work with conventionally prepared materials.
LVEM for Pathology
In pathology, the high contrast imaging provided by a LVEM is a major advantage. Electron microscopy is a powerful diagnostic tool used to assist in the diagnosis of diseases such as, kidney disease, muscle disorders, neurological disorders, ciliary dysfunction, viral gastroenteritis, viral infections and other disorders. Electron microscopy in general allows for the study of the activities, functions, properties and organization of cells and the analysis of fine structures of a biopsy.
Electron microscopy approaches complement light microscopy by providing greater detail. Transmission electron microscopes (TEM) use electrons to image tissues at much greater magnification than is possible using photons in a light microscope, allowing us to visualize in detail the many structures and organelles within cells. Electron microscopy is the only method to provide images for analysis of ultrastructural pathologic changes in various tissues.
Electron microscopy traditionally is one of the most demanding techniques to learn. However the LVEM5 and LVEM25 are simple enough to operate and maintain that even a non-microscopist can produce high quality images. Conventional TEMs are often very large and costly tools, limiting the accessibility and sample throughput volume. This is not the case with the benchtop design, low facilities requirements and low cost of the LVEM tools.
The LVEM microscopes provide high contrast result are acquired from samples in their inherent, natural state, yet still allow for staining as an option. Although there are instances where staining is desirable for diagnostic purposes, the necessity to stain samples in order to generate adequate detailed contrast cannot be viewed as advantageous.
The versatile LVEM5 electron microscope operates with four distinct imaging modes TEM, SEM, STEM and ED. This provides for comprehensive imaging and finer study. The more powerful LVEM25 is built upon the same platform as the LVEM5 and offers the same benefits, together with higher beam energy.
The LVEM25 is built upon the same platform as the LVEM5 and has the added benefit of being able to work with conventionally prepared thin sectioned materials, making it a true low-cost replacement for conventional full sized EMs.
Whether it's in the fields of pathology or other life sciences, researchers and medical professionals are assured of top notch imaging with LVEM microscopes.
The LVEM5 is the next generation of electron microscopes, built on a revolutionary technology platform that combines advanced imaging with unparalleled benchtop convenience.
